• Renovation project double size of existing pharmacy to facilitate new IV technology.
• RIVA (Robotic IV Automation) automatically and accurately prepares IV syringes and bags - addresses the issues of safety for the patient and the pharmacy technician, efficiency and effectiveness in the pharmacy and the challenges of a changing regulatory environment.
• CHOP pharmacists in acompound sterile preparations in a United States Pharmacopeia (USP) 797 environment while producing admixtures in either syringes or bags.  The automation of repetitive and complex tasks reduces the incidence of errors and contamination.
• Includes a new workroom, clean room, anteroom, tube room and hazardous room.
• Additional phases will include new order entry area, staff lounge, storage rooms and offices.
